Sound partnered with Optimism along with a packed lineup of drops.
It all starts with “V Buterin” a free mint hosted by the Optimism Collective.
Shortly after, we’ll see Sammy Arriaga and Rae Isla be the first individual artists to drop on Optimism with “Heartbreak Closer.”
This comes alongside new songs from Daniel Allan, RŌHKI, bloody white, TK and more - providing collectors with relief on high gas fees, and ensuring more money goes to the artist.
We’ve watched a gas has often eclipsed the cost of collecting a song itself, and we’re optimistic (no pun intended) that L2 is here to make collecting as easy and cost effective as possible.

Optimism marks a huge move towards a more sustainable future for collecting music onchain.
To celebrate the Optimism Collective prepared a 7 day free mint as the first ever Sound drop on Optimism.
The song is about Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum.
It was written by Ben Jones, a co-founder of Optimism and produced by Gigamesh, a co-founder of Sound and previous employee at Optimism.
Buterin has a Sound profile filled with 13 airdropped Sounds, and even a Golden Egg, all stemming from his edition of “Digressions” sent by Mija in November.
We saw how well Reo Cragun’s drop “Spent” did to debut Sound Swap, and we expect similar fireworks on this drop.
