Grammy week here in LA.
While we should be proud of what we’ve built with web3 music - we have a very long way to go.
In its current form, web3 music is an interesting sandbox. Traditional players and aware of it, but it’s a very low priority.
There’s a clear disconnect between the passion the industry has for top-charting hits on Spotify and the latest drops on Sound.
This is why my biggest goal for this year is to focus on the music.
To develop artists and grow their traditional fanbase alongside their collectors.
In many ways, we’re still in the 1st or 2nd inning.
There’s a lot of room for growth, and I ask myself everyday how we can challenge ourselves to bring these stories to life.
One way is through collectives.
With LNRZ, Sable Valley and Good Society all ramping up, expect to see a big movement around collectives in the months to come.
In the meantime, here’s what to watch out for.
