Behind The Music
Acutek is a UK DJ from a small town called Forres who has been releasing music since 2017. He’s had success in web2, with three Beatport #1 releases, two of them being on his own label.
He first got interested in web3 after reading a Mixmag article back in 2021.
“Once I’d learned more about the space I started releasing music in web3 with a free mint and everything clicked. I’m glad I got stuck in and made that decision to put my music on-chain”, he said.
Acutek is also a proponent of community, running a club night in his local town to grow the music scene, having given many DJs their first sets.
As far as the EP goes, he added “I wanted to write an A side (Combat Conditions) that had a more peak time feel to it and the B side (Kaleidoscope & Gravel Red) to more of a hypnotic/warm up sort of vibe. As the release is out on vinyl too, I wanted to create a different vibe when people listened to a particular side of the record.”
